Bing powers DuckDuckGo, Yahoo, Ecosia, and more — often overlooked but together they represent 30%+ of desktop searches. Here's the full setup process.
Go to bing.com/webmasters. Sign in with a Microsoft, Google, or Facebook account.
This is the fastest way to get started. On the Bing Webmaster homepage, click Import from Google Search Console and authorize access. Bing will automatically import your sites and sitemaps.
If not importing from GSC, click Add a Site, enter your URL, and choose a verification method:
1. Download BingSiteAuth.xml
2. Upload to your site root
3. Confirm accessible at yourdomain.com/BingSiteAuth.xml
4. Click Verify
1. Copy the meta tag
2. Add it inside <head>
3. Deploy
4. Click Verify
1. Copy the CNAME value from Bing
2. Add to your DNS settings
3. Wait for propagation
4. Click Verify
Go to Sitemaps in the left menu. Click Submit Sitemap and enter your sitemap URL.
Bing has a powerful URL Submission tool (sidebar → URL Submission). Submit up to 10,000 URLs/day for priority crawling.
